Dean Korri is the Director of Tailings & Civil Engineering for Cleveland-Cliffs Inc. and has 36 years of experience in all aspects of mine tailings project management, engineering, and dam safety compliance working on a wide variety of tailings dam projects across all of Cliffs’ past and present properties in the United States & Canada. The company owns and operates five active iron ore operations in the mining division with six substantial tailings storage facilities, all of which have a high hazard potential dam. These tailings storage facilities range from approximately one to nine square miles (600-6000 acres) in size.

Dean is involved in a number of professional organizations related to mining and tailings, and serves on various tailings committees to contribute to evolving practices from the owner’s perspective (USSD, SME, ASDSO, CDA, CIM, & ASCE).
