Russ Springer is a Senior Geotechnical Engineer in FNI’s Water Resources Design Group. His experience involves studying and designing dams, levees, earthen embankments, flood control structures, pump stations and pipelines, including field and laboratory geotechnical investigations, seepage and slope stability analyses, and structure stability and settlement. Russ has designed zoned earthen embankments, levee embankments, geotechnical instrumentation, relief wells, and filtered internal drainage systems. He is also experienced in developing earthwork-related specifications and providing construction phase services. Russ has been the lead geotechnical engineer on a new embankment dam built in Texas (Leon Hurse Dam) and a new federal levee embankment to be constructed in New Orleans (West Shore Lake Pontchartrain Levee). Russ is a registered professional engineer with a Bachelor of Science in Geological Engineering from the University of Missouri-Rolla.
