JENSEN Biography:
Fred Jensen, Hydraulic Engineer with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Southwestern Division Office (SWD), Dallas, Texas. Fred has worked for the Army Corps of Engineers for a total of 32 years involving both Reservoir Control, Water Mgmt, and Hydropower activities for the Ft. Worth District (16 years) and the Southwestern Division Office - Dallas, TX (16 years). Fred attended the University of New Mexico (Albuquerque, NM), graduating in 1992 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering.
Following college graduation, Fred began working at the Ft. Worth District on numerous assignments such as Reservoir Regulation, Water Control Manual updates, and Hydropower activities for the 25 federal multi-purpose reservoirs within the Ft. Worth District. Also, Mr. Jensen has volunteered in natural weather disasters such as Floods, Tornados, and Hurricanes. Also, while at SWF, Fred has participated in many Dam Safety and Hydropower inspections on the District reservoirs.
While at the SWD Division Office, Fred is responsible for reviewing and approving the updated Water Control Manuals for each lake as these pertaint to reservoir regulation activities and background information on the 105 federal multi-purpose projects within the SWD Division boundaries. Also, Fred is responsible for monitoring the Reservoir Regulation activities for these federal projects as well. While at the SWD Division Office, Fred has presented various presentations at conferences such as US Society of Dams (USSD), Assoc. of State Dam Safety Officials (ASDSO), National Hydrologic Warning Council (NHWC), and the International Commission on Large Dams (ICOLD).
