Seth Thompson, P.E., SPRAT I

Project Manager, Dams & Hydraulics

Seth Thompson is a Project Manager at GFT, specializing in dams and hydraulic structures. With deep expertise in hydraulic design, spillway assessments, and computational fluid dynamics modeling, Seth plays a key role in advancing innovative solutions for complex water infrastructure projects. He holds both bachelor’s and master’s degrees in civil engineering from Utah State University, where he completed his thesis on labyrinth weirs at the renowned Utah Water Research Laboratory. Currently pursuing an Executive MBA at Brigham Young University, Seth strives to make both spillways and operations flow as they should. Outside the office, he enjoys adventuring outdoors with his family—whether it’s mountain biking with his son and daughter or sharing the trail with his 84-year-old grandfather.
