Russell Friedle IV – Project Engineer, Fisher Contracting Company

Russell Friedle IV is a Project Engineer at Fisher Contracting Company, where he has worked since 2019. He brings hands-on experience in heavy civil construction, with a specialized focus on dam rehabilitation and hydroelectric infrastructure. His field experience includes the demolition of existing dam structures and the construction of new concrete walls and slabs on historical hydroelectric dams.

Russell has played a key role in complex operations such as cofferdam installation, soil anchor placement, sheet pile driving, and the development of cost-effective, constructible solutions in collaboration with design engineers and project stakeholders. He has also worked closely with Engineers of Record to resolve design conflicts and ensure successful project execution.
In the aftermath of Michigan’s 2020 floods, Russell contributed to the cofferdam design efforts at Tobacco Dam, Tittabawassee Dam, and Smallwood Dam. At Smallwood Dam, he has served as a Project Engineer, coordinating closely with structural, geotechnical, and reinforcing steel design teams to deliver safe and resilient infrastructure solutions.

Additionally, Russell has extensive experience in dewatering design, having worked with various engineering firms to implement deep well and well point systems across multiple projects. His diverse background in both fieldwork and engineering coordination makes him a valuable asset in delivering technically sound and cost-efficient solutions in heavy civil construction.
