Brad has over 24 years experience in civil and geotechnical engineering experience with an emphasis on dams, levees and navigation structures. He currently serves as HDR’s Geotechnical Practice lead in dams, levees and civil works-serving in a dam design engineer and as dam safety advisory role on several large dam designs across the country. His geotechnical career spans both consulting and public sector where he spent nearly 21 years with the US Army Corps of Engineers in Nashville as a design engineer on high head dams, seepage cutoff walls, dam safety instrumentation program design, and navigation lock construction. Through his career, he has served as a technical subject matter expert on foundation treatment to mitigate seepage induced dam failures, levee safety program manager for the USACE, construction management on complex projects across the globe and has served on national committees with ASDSO, the Deep Foundations Institute (DFI), the US Society of Dams (member of Construction & Rehabilitation of Dams committee) and the American Society of Civil Engineers (member of Soil Erosion & Embankment Dams committee). His expertise has centered around risk informed dam safety and operational decisions stemming from both quantitative risk assessment (QRA) and semi-quantitative (SQRA) risk assessments.
