Gary Dale is a Dam Safety Engineer with Brookfield Renewable, N.A., working as part of the team of dam safety engineers, asset managers, compliance specialists, and operations staff to ensure the safe operation of Brookfield’s projects and compliance with relevant regulatory requirements. Gary is a registered professional engineer in New York with over 20 years of experience in geotechnical and dam safety engineering, including developing subsurface investigations and evaluating soils and bedrock for: shallow and deep foundations; slope and embankment stability; retaining wall systems; gravity dam stability; post-tensioned anchors; seepage; and drainage filters. Gary has also performed dam safety inspections, been involved in dam assessments, dam breach and spillway design flood studies, dam rehabilitation studies and design, participated in Part 12D safety inspections and potential failure mode analysis workshops and has provided technical oversight of dam repairs, retrofits, and upgrades. He is a member of ASCE, ASDSO and USSD, and earned a Master of Science degree from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, NY.
